Ancillary Data Inventory

Available ancillary data were collected from each data source at the same time as the root trait data. In FRED 3.0, these ancillary data fall under nine general categories: study location, climate, and soils, plant taxonomy, plant growth form and habit, plant growing conditions, and stand and vegetation characteristics, as well as standardized metadata on the study (e.g., data source references and Digital Object Identifiers for both data source and data set when available) and standardized metadata on the classification and sampling of roots. In total, there are 241 types of ancillary data available in FRED 3.0.

Use the search box if you are interested in seeing whether FRED 3.0 has a particular type of ancillary data, or choose combinations from the Category and Type boxes below and click the "Filter" button to view subsets of the data.
